Austin grew up in a third-generation family construction business in South Carolina, so entrepreneurship is deep within his roots. Through this experience, he gained a deep understanding of the characteristics it takes to build a lasting company legacy. After graduating college, Austin joined the family business as a Process Improvement Manager and worked side-by-side with the management team to help the business grow. After a successful sale of the business to a strategic acquirer, Austin joined Sonoco Products Company, a $5B consumer packaging multinational, as a Financial Analyst. At Sonoco, Austin worked as part of the operations team in the paper and adhesives manufacturing division, where he continued his focus on process improvement.
Austin studied at the University of South Carolina, earning a BS in International Business and graduating Magna Cum Laude. While there, he won the NCAA Division I National Championship as a member of the USC baseball team. Austin also graduated with Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in entrepreneurship, operations and economics.
Outside of work, Austin loves spending time with his family, including his two Labrador retrievers.
