Originally from San Jose, California, Nick grew up competing in both individual and team sports. Wrestling and powerlifting instilled in him a deep sense of personal discipline and performance, while football taught him the power of camaraderie and shared purpose. Together, these experiences shaped the way he leads, balancing individual accountability with a deep appreciation for team success.
Before joining NGP, Nick served for 8 years as a U.S. Army Armor Officer, holding a range of leadership roles across the U.S., Korea, and Europe. His experience included commanding tank units, overseeing maintenance operations, and working in strategic planning roles. He culminated his service as a Tank Company Commander, responsible for a company of 100 soldiers and a fleet of heavy vehicles, trucks, generators, and maintenance equipment. These roles taught him how to build trust under pressure, lead diverse teams, and keep mission-critical systems running no matter the challenge.
Following the Army, Nick developed his business skills at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where he majored in finance and marketing and served as President of both the Kellogg Veterans Association and the Cork & Screw Wine Club.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys exploring new breweries, trying to teach his cat tricks, and reading sci-fi and fantasy books.
Nick holds a B.S. in Information Technology from the United States Military Academy at West Point, an M.S. in Data Science from Eastern University, and an MBA from Northwestern Kellogg.
