Rishi Sharma

Entrepreneur-in-residence

Rishi Sharma is an entrepreneurial operator with 12+ years of experience across IoT devices, video surveillance, and venture capital. Prior to joining NGP, Rishi was a key executive in his family’s video surveillance business, where he held leadership roles across product development, operations, customer success, and supply chain. As Head of Product, he led the development and launch of smart security solutions spanning IP, wireless, and mobile platforms. Later, as General Manager, he oversaw company-wide operations—from logistics and fulfillment to compliance and customer support—driving both growth and operational discipline. Rishi also built out the company’s direct sales channel and secured strategic relationships with retailers such as Costco, Home Depot, and BJ’s Wholesale. His leadership helped scale the business through multiple inflection points and positioned it for a successful acquisition.

Rishi spent the last four years in venture capital, most recently at Newlin VC, where he focused on West Coast-based deals in consumer products, artificial intelligence, and B2B technology. At Newlin, he led sourcing and diligence for a fintech investment serving SMBs in Latin America. Earlier, during his time with GoingVC Partners, Rishi sourced and supported an investment in an AI-powered vertical SaaS company focused on customer operations. He has also served as a mentor to early-stage founders through Plug and Play Ventures and the Founder’s Institute.

Rishi holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA from UCLA Anderson. He lives in Chicago and enjoys hiking, golfing, and spending time outdoors. He is also passionate about mentoring neurodiverse youth and advancing inclusive entrepreneurship.
